#24 Ithaca Tops Wisconsin-Whitewater 30-12

Scott Aronowitz was a 5-1 winner against Wisconsin-Whitewater
Williamsport, Pa. -- The #24 Bombers concluded their first day of competition at Lycoming’s Budd Whitehill National Duals with a a 30-12 win over Wisconsin-Whitewater in a consolation match Friday.

The Bombers will open Saturday's competition with a noon match against Messiah.

Four Ithaca wrestlers finished the day with 3-0 records: senior Jad Duca (South Brunswick/Monmouth Junction, N.J.), by major decision at 157 pounds; fourth-ranked Matthias Keib (G. Ray Bodley/Fulton) by major decision of the day at 174 pounds; fifth-ranked Robert Stubbs (Levittown/MacArthur) by fall at 184 pounds and junior Nick Calandrino (Emerson/Emerson, N.J.), by fall at 197 pounds. Keib, now 18-1 on the season and 81-41 in his career, won all three of his matches by major decision. Stubbs (18-2, 88-31) won twice by technical fall and once by fall.

Ithaca’s other winners were Tim Gammons (Natick/Natick, Mass.), by decision at 133 pounds; senior Scott Aronowitz (Clarkstown North/New City), by decision at 149 pounds; and senior Brian Lockard (Upper Dublin/Dresher, Pa.), by major decision at 165 pounds.
